NCBA Winter Training

Newton Baseball is pleased to announce that we will have multiple winter training options this year.

For those looking for all around winter training, Newton has hired a coach from Bullpen Baseball Academy. The winter training will start next Tuesday, November 2nd and go for 17 weeks. The training will be Tuesday and Thursday nights. Players who will be in mosquito in the spring (2011 & 2012 born) will be on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00pm-8:15pm. Players who will be in peewee and bantam in the spring (2007-2010 born) will be on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30pm-10:00pm. The training will take place at MB Sanford Elementary.

The winter training will cover the following:

-Proper throwing mechanics
-Catching
-Outfield
-Infield
-Batting
-Base Running
-Pitching
-Plus more for the older age group including lead offs, stealing, holding runners on base, and how to throw different pitches

We are also pleased to offer a hitting clinic with Coach Phillip of MLA. These clinics will take place on Thursday evenings or Saturdays and will be held in the Unwin Park Batting Cages.

Hitting drills will include: Hitting for contact, hit with power/exit velocity, back loading, training the eyes to see pitches in lanes. Learn to master hitting inside, middle and low outside pitches (Elite levels – how to hit breaking balls and situational hitting.
